What is a coach?

A coach is a person who supports people (clients) to achieve their goals, with goal setting, encouragement and questions. Unlike a counselor or mentor, a coach rarely offers advice. However, term coaching is often misused in situations where the "coach" provides expert opinion and "how to" answers and advice. Coaching does not include the given solution for the problem but will energize the coachee to solve the problem. Typically, a coach helps clients to find their own solutions, by asking questions that give them insight into their situations. A coach holds a client accountable, so if a client agrees to a plan to achieve a goal, a coach will help motivate them to complete their plan.

Business coaching focuses on helping a business owner or manager learn and rediscover skills to make running their business a pleasure. Business coaching can operate in any segment of commerce: from traditional businesses to entrepreneurial start-ups to e-businesses. It can also apply to any model of business. For instance, the "franchise" model has the end goal of establishing defined processes that allow the entrepreneur to separate him/herself from the business.

If that’s you, then read on to see how Coaching works.

In a small business it's a struggle to work ON the business, as well as IN it. Trying to attract more clients, keep the your current clients as well as looking after the daily operations of the business.

To do this you need an effective method for handling all of your business processes with ease. Preferably methods that doesn't cost a fortune or absorb all of your time. As an independent professional or a small business owner, you need to control the methods yourself to use over and over.

To get your business running well, you need guidance, a sounding-board for ideas, and expert "how to" advice. Our coaching has been developed to provide those key elements in a way that is relevant, deliverable, and affordable.

What coaching includes

> Three 45-minute coaching calls every month.*

> Unlimited email help, I aim to respond to you within 1 business day.

> 10 minute laser calls whenever you need them

> Access to services suppliers (e.g. designer, printer, funding) near you, I have multiple networks and will no doubt have the right contact.

> Discounts on all of my products including ebooks, teleseminars, workshops and audio vicual products.

What is NOT included

To keep the coaching affordable we cutting out the things which usually make accessing advice expensive. We don't include these in the cost:

> Travel to meetings — If you do want to meet I will advise of any additional costs to you in advance

> Meetings — there is no easier way of losing time from the working day than meetings. For some people they are unavoidable, but Coaching eliminates them almost entirely. Instead, after our first meeting our contact will be by phone, video conference or email. That may sound a bit remote, but once you get used to it you'll be surprised how focused it becomes and how much more you will get done as a result.

> Things you can do yourself — this is the key difference between Coaching and Business Consulting. Business Consultants take your problem away and solve it for you, often not really letting you know how they did it so that you will need them again for the same problem. We teach you the basics and guide you as you do it yourself. Why pay someone else for something you can do yourself?

This do-it-yourself approach is what makes Coaching affordable and very effective. You remain in control and learn new skills yourself as you develop and implement a plan tailored to your business.

While our fee includes only recommendations and coaching, that doesn't mean you can't employ my services if you wish. Sometimes it makes sense to use an expert while you do what you do best. If you wish me to complete some tasks instead of doing them yourself, that can be arranged at a cost we will agree in advance.
